A Frontier Christmas

Old Washington, Kentucky begins Winter
with a Frontier Christmas and the first snowfall of the season.

The old Post Office is still operational.

A demonstrator shows how to spin wool.

Live music with dulcimer's, fiddles, banjos and guitars.

Strolling down the snow covered lane playing the bagpipes.
It certainly set the mood for a Christmas of old.

Historical homes remind us of those who came before us.

Historical ledgers from Civil War ear.

Live music in the old Church.

Today I experienced a frontier Christmas and became mesmerized by the way they lived and celebrated long ago.  A stroll down cobblestone paths took me back in history to a simple time.  May the traditions we hold today pave the way for those in the future to look back and see that we honored God, loved family and celebrated the birth of Christ in simple ways that stood the test of time leaving a lasting legacy.
