Encouraging Display Card Using Cricut New Testament Cartridge

I wanted to make a card for a friend
going through breast cancer that she could
display and read on those difficult days.

I used the new Cricut Cartridge New Testament
for the Scripture.

Display Card Size:  7 " Square

Scripture cut at 4 1/2"

Frame cut from Storybook Cartridge

I love using leftover flowers & vines to add some interest.

I even had a butterfly left over so added it as well.

I hope this verse will be a reminder to her that

with God all things are possible and He will

give the strength needed for each day ahead!

Baby Shower Cards

Cute as a Button

 I adapted this idea from the March 2012 CardMaker Magazine

where Designer Rosemary Dennis used frame & sentiment stamps
and a whale cut out with the layout above.

 Card Size:  4 1/4" Square

Larger Pink Mat:  4"

Larger White Mat: 3 1/2"

Small Pink Mat:  3"

Small White Mat:  2 3/4"

16  Buttons similar color

Duck cut from Cricut Cartridge A Child's Year 1 1/2"

Small black bead for eye

Sentiment printed on computer then cut to size

Foam tape used to attach larger white mat

These can be made in any color!

I have a friend who is not finding out what the baby is

so she is getting a yellow card!

Bright & Cheerful Z Fold Card

 

Card Size:  11" x 6"

Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" from left edge

Fold in half then fold small part to the left

Cricut Cartridge:  Twinkle Toes

Card Stock:  Die Cuts with a View & Basic Black Card Stock

Extras:  Prima Flowers, Ribbons & a Button

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for Spring!  

When I sat down at my craft table, I just wanted to make something cheery & bright!

It has been raining here for days. I chose yellow (definitely a Spring color) 

and the black seemed to make a nice contrast, making it even brighter!

Looking forward to Spring!

Fall Blessings

I saw an idea in a Craft magazine to use leaves in 

layers to create a card, so thought I would give it

a try for a Fall Blessing card!

Do you recognize the red grid piece on the card?

It's from a potato sack!  When I was cooking one day,

I noticed the amazing texture and pattern and knew

it would be perfect for this card!  Try it out!

Materials

Patterned Paper:  Die Cuts with a View

Basic Card Stock

Leaves from dollar store pack

Glitter leaves from dollar store pack

Embellishments:  tags, gems & jute twine

If you print your own pictures like I do, then you know you

usually have some left over picture paper on the sheet

I don't throw anything away, so I found these left over pieces are

perfect for the inside of cards, especially if they are from the

Post-it-Note paper which just sticks right on.

A Farm Fresh Thank You

This is my first chance to use my newest Cricut cartridge:  Country Life

There are so many cute images that I know
it will quickly become one of my favorites, 

especially because I'm a country girl!

Vintage and Card Making

 

 A few weeks ago, I came across vintage 1960s beaded clip on earrings

with no matches at a yard sale and I wanted to incorporate them into card making.

 My first thought was like many of you who commented, to use the clip on earring 

as a center to a flower.  Since my Mom had found some great vintage 

lace and beading that looked like it came from an old wedding gown, 

they became the perfect accent with this vintage earring center.

Since my recent surgery, my neck isn't cooperating with looking

down for very long while crafting, so I've discovered something

to keep me busy in the meantime...looking for vintage items. 

Go through your stash of goodies and look for old lace, ric-rac, etc.

and pair them with some vintage beads or jewelry and see what 

one of kind unique cards you can make!

Happy Father's Day

 

I'm sending a Happy Father's Day to my Dad!

The one gift I enjoy giving my Dad is peanut butter fudge.

I believe he enjoys it better than any gift I've ever given.

With my recent health problems the fudge & card above didn't

make it in the mail, but I'm sending my love 

& an IOU for fudge real soon!

Did I mention how much I love daisies and how I'm ready for Spring?

Can you tell?  I love using the wide ribbon for instant color

and it can be found in such a variety of colors/prints.

Card Size:  5" x 8"

 

 The daisies were on a vine for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree.

I did remove the green clasp at back and clip the stem.

When I saw them I knew they would be perfect for this ribbon,

which I bought in three colors too!  

I'm sure you will see those later!

Paper Cutz Challenge #80

Challenge:  Make a card, LO or craft project for Spring using any colors.

Welcome Spring

 

 I love flowers and my absolute favorite is the daisy!

They make me smile every time I see them!

 

Card Size:  5 1/2" Square rounded corners

Mat Size:  5" Square

I used a thin strip of Scor-tape on the top edge of my ribbon to

make it easier to pleat it then made the flower shape on

glue dots still on the glue dot paper pulling together the flower center 

so it was much easier to pull off when ready for the card.  

 

I found this daisy wire edged ribbon at the Dollar Tree for $1.00

and fell in love with it!  It matched beautifully with ribbon my

Mom gave me!  She always thinks of me when she sees crafting supplies.

I'm looking forward to Spring and making cards like this 

only makes me want it more!

"I Love You"  Waterfall Card

  

 When you pull the tab the message rotates!

 

 Inside area for sentiment

Card Size:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Here's How to Make It:  

Scalloped ovals 2 1/4", Storybook
Card stock strip 2 1/4" x 8 3/4"

Score at 1 3/4", 2 1/2", 3 1/4" and 4"

from one end and crease well

     Place adhesive on small area of scallops...not too far.

 

Begin placing scallops from a score line down.  Each section will get a scallop.

 

After all glued down.  Cut ovals 1 3/4" add to scallops, punch hole for ribbon

and decorate!

Cut 3/4" x 4 1/4" band. Place adhesive on each end only.  Place on card

1" up from bottom.  Slide strip with ovals under band. Flip over and lay down last 

scallop even with band and adhere to band to make it stationery. 

This is a simple card technique that's loads of fun!

Square Waterfall Card

Same technique as above, but this time I 

wanted to make a larger card.  

I will use this to teach children with the colors of the salvation story 

as the colors fall back in the card.

Card Size:  5" x 7"

Card stock strip:  2" x 12 1/2"

(I pieced the strip)

Score at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/4", 5" and 6"

Colored squares:  2"

Never Ending Card

A Fun Card that Keeps Folding and Folding

Flipped Open to First Page 

I just added some journaling spots quickly, but of course

this can be decorated anyway you want with lot's 

of space to get creative with!

 Unfolded Again to Second Page

Back Again to Back of Card

If you haven't ever tried this...it's really simple!

Here's How You Make a Never Ending Card

Step 1 - Cut 4  3" x 6" pieces of paper/card stock

2 pieces of 2 different patterns

I used double sided paper

 

Step 2 - Score at 1 1/2" from each short edge on all pieces

Measure carefully to keep all the same.  If using paper, score two at a time.

Step 3 - Crease well on score lines.

Step 4 -  Lay two pieces down horizontally.

Place adhesive on back side in upper and lower corners 

not going too far down.  Line up score lines.

Step 5 - Place other two pieces of paper/cd stock on top vertically

lining up carefully at the edges.

Step 6 - Unfold pushing sides to the back making sure they line up at the back

and crease on front to make 1st page.

Step 7 - Unfold again pushing sides to the back, make sure back lines up

to meet in middle and crease the front.

Step 8 - Push toward back one last time and you will be
at the back side as you see below.

Now it's time to decorate your panels!

You can cut an image in half and adhere to both sides to meet 

in the middle of the panels at the front or back.

Never Ending Salvation Card
I'm sure you've seen the salvation bracelets with colors to tell about faith.
Well, I wanted to try a never ending card with the colors.
I plan to use this with children and it may make a great VBS project also!

Black - Sin/wrong we've done            White - If we ask for forgiveness

Red - Jesus' blood- died on cross         We will be washed whiter than snow

 

Blue - Baptism is the first thing we do      Green - Growth as a Christian

in obedience to God showing others        Yellow - Heaven when we die

the decision we've made
